Verse 32: King Agrippa fully accepted Paul’s defense and agreed that he should be set free, but because Paul had appealed to Caesar, he would not be set free. It is difficult to tell if King Agrippa would have had the authority to free Paul even if he had not appealed though, since Festus had in fact only asked for his opinion on the matter. After reading some of the commentaries on this verse, it was hard to tell how much authority King Agrippa had, or whether he even had jurisdiction over the area in which Paul was imprisoned.
